Free-text fields on intake forms drift: one person types "IT", another types "I.T.", a third writes "information technology" — and any automation or report built on that field quietly breaks. The Select component fixes this at the source by giving people a fixed set of choices to pick from instead of a blank box to type into.

Add a Select field to any form and pick the display that matches how the question feels — a compact dropdown list for a long list of departments, radio buttons or checkboxes when you want every option visible at a glance, or chips for a fast, tap-friendly pick. Choose single or multiple selection depending on whether someone can pick one option or several.

Options can be typed in once for a fixed list (like "Approved / Rejected / Needs Review"), or connected to a live data source — so a "Department" or "Product" field always mirrors your current table instead of going stale as your org or catalog changes. Either way, every submission uses the exact wording your workflows and reports expect.
